Essential 4 Living – Lessons in Truth

Faith, God, love, Spirituality

The Audacity of Authenticity

Conscious – Awake – Aware

Engaged – Proactive – Involved

The Answer – The Solution – The X Factor

The Innovator – The Creator – The Inventor

The Storyteller – The Historian –  The Legacy

The Way-shower – The Light – The Christ

Kindness – Compassion – Love

Isn’t it funny how we are always pushing others to express themselves and live in the glory of their authentic self? Well, it seems that it is easier said than done. While its true that is what we say and how we feel (kinda), we only mean it if you do it our way. Ah, to control the narrative of someone else’s story!

Look around. All that is, all that exist is a testament and a constant reminder of the greatness and immeasurable Creative Intelligent Mind that only created originals. Think about that for a second. No two anything are exactly alike, not even identical twins! There is nothing random or happenstance about anything or anyone in the universe. All is purposed and all represents a unique and intelligent idea that originated in Divine Mind, which means of course, we are by our very nature divine. Talk about some good news!

Colored Glass In Hand

Our physical world (Earth) is supposed to mirror the spiritual world (Heaven) not in the way it looks (impossible) but in the way it and we operate; the way in which we live. Task in hand, Mind-kind  instituted rules (laws) to create a system of order which is supposed to help us to work, live and play with others in peace and enjoyment.  Many if not most of man’s laws are borne out of fear and exist for no other purpose than to place other mind-kind in a heretical system of subjugation. All too often different is misinterpreted as less than or inferior to that which is perceived to be more than or superior.

One of the challenges we face in our humanness is to learn to accept those who appear different or unique. We tend to gravitate to that which looks and feels most familiar to us. We shy away and are even afraid of that which we perceive as different or other. This behavior is contrary to our design. Love created us. Love abounds. Love is everlasting, which is eternal.

So, gives? Why isn’t it easier to not only say but live “Namaste” – The God in me sees and honors the God in you instead of disliking, distrusting and not loving you because we are not cookie cuts? Well, the root cause is not hatred or bigotry. These are symptoms of the true disease. Contrary to popular belief, hate is not the opposite of love.

Let’s explore this further and deepen our understanding of the one true enemy of Mind/kind: FEAR.  Yes , you read that correctly. The opposite of love is fear. Some have assigned an acronym for it: False Evidence Appearing Real and False Expectations Appearing Real. Keep It Real  Yes, these are good soundbites intended to reduce fear to the nothingness that it is. But soundbites are just that. Its time to go deeper and that means its time to go higher.

Fear itself is uncomfortable. It is other. It is unknown. It is unnatural. It is not what lies in darkness, it is the darkness. Fear has no power. No existence. No being. It is only what and who we believe it to be. Fear is nothing, absolutely nothing.   And Fear is the one thing that God did not create. Fear is a creation straight from the immature mind of man. Fear gives meaning to the darkness we find ourselves in when we take our “eye” off of God. We deem ourselves to be worthy of The God that is, instead of the gods we are.  Just pause and let that marinate for a moment.

Authenticity Red Pencil

You and I were created in Divine God-Mind happy, healthy, whole/complete. We are lacking nothing. Wanting nothing. In fact, all that we would ever hope for, dream of, think of, was created in us from the beginning. Each of us received a uniquely individual personality and skill set which matches up perfectly with God’s idea of itself expressed as you and me. The only thing God did not give us is the spirit or consciousness of fear. Are you with me so far? Great! So let’s step all the way in and make it plain:

Before God .. well there isn’t a “before God” so no need to go there. Everything that is, was created by God and expresses Elohim God in whatever form it chose to manifest – people, places and things.

One of my favorite descriptions of God All Mind is found in Bible Scriptures. I John 4:8 identifies God as Love. I Corinthians 13 identifies the attributes, the character of Love/God. To understand all that love is, is to understand all that God is. And all that God is not.

So, now you are knowing.Authenticity

Only when you are knowingly engaged and connected with All-Mind are you living and being authentically purposed, authentically true, authentically YOU.

When we “imitate” the Father, whatever He says, I do; whatever He does, I do. It is only when we become as the Father, we can live our authentic self; walk in the audacity of our authenticity.

The Mirror

Children Live What They Learn

If children live with criticism,

They learn to condemn.
bears-974462__340.jpgIf children live with hostility,
They learn to fight.
If children live with ridicule,
They learn to be shy.

  If children live with shame,
They learn to feel guilty.

 If children live with encouragement,
They learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance,
They learn to be patient.
If children live with praise,
They learn to appreciate.
If children live with acceptance,
They learn to love.

If children live with approval,
They learn to like themselves.
If children live with honesty,
They learn truthfulness.
If children live with security,

They learn to have faith in themselves and others.
If children live with friendliness,
They learn the world is a nice place in which to live.

This is your time. Get out in front make the whole experience into a parade. It is your time to be PRO-Active and not RE-Active. Get it done, get it done. Just do it! Just … BE.

Living in the age of a technological explosion is exciting indeed. It does, however, have its upside as well as another side. One the upside, all of the knowledge and information of this world is literally at our fingertips. Smartphones, watches and tablets are now competing with other more traditional computers for keeping track of and running our daily lives. Let’s face it, a world without computers just doesn’t exist any more. No  more information by Pony Express, radio or black and white TV in twelve hour increments. We live our lives out loud and in full spectrum color … 24 hours a day! So, what is the down, I mean other side of this age? Believe it or not, its the same as the upside!

Although a day is still measured in twenty-four hour cycles it is rarely split evenly into day and night. A once 40 hour workweek is now 50 or even 60 hours; more often than not divided into two or three jobs. Thanks to a variety of social, economic and political impacts, a traditional family is no longer the simple math of Father + Mother + 2.5 kids + a dog. The blending of families across generational  as well as cultural bloodlines is the new normal.

So, what happened to all of that “extra” time we acquired through the use of technology? Its clear it is being used just to keep up; just to make our short ends meet.  These days it takes more time to make/earn the same amount of money as it did fifty years ago. What a shame! It turns out in our quest for more time, so much of the valuable time we already had was suddenly no longer as accessible as it once was.

I can remember when spending hours at the library, or perusing sheet and vinyl music at the record store was the stuff dreams were made of. My friends and I would cross the train tracks just to go to the nearby park on Saturdays to watch my younger brothers play little league baseball. Oh, and don’t get me started about writing (yes writing) letters to each other and passing them before, after and in between classes. A phone call to the next city was sometimes considered long distance and it cost a lot! If you were away from home and needed to make a call, hope you had some dimes and way to the nearest phone booth (move over Superman!). Now, your phone is wherever you are. Yes it seems with all the advances and improvements in our world, we are always moving, always on,the go, but not getting anywhere…fast.

There is so much more to life and living than wake, eat, play, sleep and repeat. Life itself is more.

So when you say there isn’t enough hours in the day remember time hasn’t changed;only your perception of it.

Your challenge from this moment on –  BE

Love Is Everything.

Love Is All. There Is Nothing Greater Than Love. GOD IS LOVE.pexels-photo-186447

Love alone is the complete reason for our existence. It imagined us. Thought us. Created us. Manifested/gave birth to us. Love is not just who we are but what we are. It is not just in our DNA, it is our DNA; quite literally the stuff we are made of!

Since the fall of Mind-kind, our species has been in search of True God, Divine Spirit God. However, our pursuits have mostly pointed us in the direction of our idea of God. We have searched high and low, far and wide. Still the God of earthly legends just can’t be found. The problem with our search is that in all of our seeking, we never really looked within.

Love is comfort and security. It is trust, confidence and satisfaction. Love desired and desirable.this thing called Love is exciting and inviting.  Love is blessed assurance.  Some even say that love is here today and gone tomorrow. Such sentiment makes for interesting plot lines and pity parties, but nothing could be farther from the truth.

It is the “X” factor.

Truth is Love is constant, it does not change. It neither increases or decreases with the rise and fall of human emotions. It cannot be turned around on a whim.  It cannot change. What changes is the way or ways we CHOOSE to express it or even not express it.heart-cord-suspended-love-160836.jpeg

The Way of Love

13 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;[b] it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.pexels-photo-220066.jpeg

13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Whether you say God, Jehovah, Yahweh, Allah, First Cause, Divine Mind, Mother-Father God or simply Spirit; He, She, It really doesn’t care. I have used all of the above and then some. Again, it doesn’t really matter because God really doesn’t care: God knows our voice individually and collectively. What is important is that you remember that God is always interested in what you have to say. Why? Because God is Love. And Love is all there is.

Shift Happens …

Today is a good day. The sun is shining, not a cloud in the sky. Even the birds are singing. Yes, life is sweet, just the way you planned it or at least on its way to your idea of perfection. Suddenly, Bang! Boom! Pow! seemingly out of nowhere Life Happens. You were minding your own business, traveling down/up your own path and in the twinkling of a eye, in an instant you find yourself, your world and affairs smack dab in the middle of an inconvenient interruption to your status quo. What will you do, what happens when SHIFT HAPPENS?pexels-photo-305264

In general, natural disasters and man-made tragedies happen all over the world every  minute of everyday. Hurricanes, tornadoes, avalanches, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, wildfires, floods, tsunamis, and more are the stuff breaking news stories are made of; especially when there is a great threat of loss of life and property. In cities, towns communities and villages, homicides, suicides, burglaries, vehicle accidents (on the ground and in the air), miscellaneous acts of hatred and violence including wars are enough to make one’s head spin. And, of course, there are the changes that occur with what I call the “Circle of Life” Events: Birth, living, death and transition. While we may pause for a moment of silence, prayer or a brief reflection, none of us really skip a beat until shift happens to us.

In the state of California we can be sure of three things: (1) Earthquakes, (2) Wildfires and (3) The rain, mudslides and floods that follow. As with anything else, these events occur in cycles. Earthquakes pretty much happen all of the time, as the Earth itself is a living breathing planet. It is always moving and stretching and shifting; we just don’t realize it because most of the time it happens so deep below the surface we just don’t notice.  Oh, but just let this beautiful blue marble cough, sigh or yawn a little closer to Terra-firma and folks will be diving under tables and headed for the nearest doorway! An earthquake is like an avalanche; there is usually no warning ahead of time. One minute nothing. The next there’s a whole lot of shaking going on.

In this year, the United States of America has certainly experienced its share and more of disasters and life changing events. Of all of them, Hurricane Maria’s devastation of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands and the California Wildfires were the catalyst for this writing. I guess because of the sheer numbers of families (especially children) impacted. Homes lost. Businesses lost. lives lost. Hope lost. Suddenly, in the twinkling of an eye all it seems is lost.

When what you had no longer exists, you must be about the business of creating a new form of your existence. Make no mistake about it, you will most likely have to accept your new reality even if for a little while. It is what it is. But the good news is, the power to change it is entirely up to you.pexels-photo-272254

Rebuilding after loss requires strength, hope, heart, patience, determination and a measure of faith. If you are connected with a church, synagogue, temple or another type of spiritual ministry, hopefully you have access to a good support system to help guide you to better days. If your support system is non-existent or lacking, don’t despair.

There are many resources available to you; from social media to community services, neighbors and yes even strangers. Just remember to reach out: seek and you will find. You are not now, not ever alone. Whatever your challenge today, it will pass. We’d like to think that you will find something on to encourage you. Lift you. Empower you. Be a place of information, comfort and peace for you.pexels-photo-264196

Someone once said; “Nothing is certain except death and taxes.” Well, that’s only partially true. There is actually a third component: CHANGE. You may not be able to control the initiating circumstances but how you react is 100% up to you. Not all detours, potholes and road hazards are negative or a bad sign. When you can’t see beyond the brokenness of your situation it is very easy to fall into the trap of believing what you see.

Don’t believe what you see, rather, see what you believe. pexels-photo-243170

You Are The Creator of Your World

What do you wish for in your wildest dreams? Is your mind full of ideas, visions and plans for your future? How would you like change your present situation for something different? Would you like to travel, move into a new home, buy a car, be married, start a family, write a book or a play? The list goes on and on because the list is infinite.

Just think. It all begins with the tiny seed of a thought. Your greatest experiences are literally all in your mind. You must first BELIEVE that all things are possible. Look beyond the process and see the end result. Engage the entirety of your senses; touch, see, smell, hear, taste and KNOW that your thoughts have produced good fruit!

You are the thinker. You are the creator. What’s in your mind today?
